Event Details

What makes the short story such a remarkable work of art? Take Bob Boone’s course and find out. In this five-week workshop, you’ll discuss some old favorites along with selections from The Best American Short Stories of 2014 to discover how gifted authors write stories that get better each time you read them. Bob started teaching in 1964 and has worked in New York City, Germany, Highland Park, and Chicago. In 1991, he founded Young Chicago Authors to offer opportunities for young writers from the city. He has written several textbooks, a teaching memoir, a sports biography, and a book of short fiction. Registration is required. For the first class, please arrive having read "The End of Something" by Ernest Hemingway.
