The Art Institute of Chicago will mount
a major new exhibition on Paul Gauguin June 25-September 10. It is the first show
to examine the artist’s radical experiments in the applied arts, underscoring
his achievements not only as a painter but also as a sculptor, printmaker, and
decorator. After its Chicago debut, the exhibition travels to the Grand Palais
in Paris. Please join us as Glencoe resident Allison Perelman, a research
associate at the Art Institute of Chicago who has worked on the exhibition
since its inception five years ago, discusses the important themes and artworks
of the show and how they were brought to life in the galleries.
