The founder of the
Special Olympics and a pioneering champion of children and adults with
intellectual disabilities, Eunice Kennedy Shriver may have changed the world as
significantly as her more-famous brothers did. The first definitive biography
of this crusading woman, by Eileen McNamara, will be published on April 3. Ms. McNamara
spent nearly 30 years as a journalist at The
Boston Globe, where she won a Pulitzer Prize for Commentary. Her column
touched off the abuse cover-up investigation portrayed in the movie
“Spotlight.” Copies of Eunice will be
available for sale and signing courtesy of the Book Stall.
