A Sesquicentennial Special Presentation

Glencoe would be quite a different place if some little-known proposed projects had been built. In this “alternative history” program, award-winning preservation architect and longtime Glencoe resident Scott Javore will discuss what might have been. From the downtown plans designed by Frank Lloyd Wright and George Maher to the park proposals of Jens Jensen and more, Mr. Javore will explore plans that never made it off the drawing board. He’ll discuss individual designs that would have changed the look and layout of Glencoe as we know it, why they were rejected, and how they might have otherwise influenced the architecture of the town today. Cosponsored with the Glencoe Historical Society.
