This slide lecture commemorates the centennial of the death of Austrian artist Gustav Klimt. In her presentation, art historian Jeff Mishur will discuss important examples of Klimt’s work, including The Kiss and Portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer (“The Woman in Gold”).  Mishur will also place Klimt within the art historical context of late-nineteenth century French painting, including the Impressionist, Post-Impressionist and Symbolist movements.
