Please join us for a Zoom discussion of hit Netflix miniseries, Unorthodox.  Based on the Deborah Feldman's 2012 autobiography, Unorthodox:  The Scandalous Rejection of My Hasidic Roots, Unorthodox is the story of Esty, a 19-year-old Jewish woman living unhappily in an arranged marriage among an ultra-orthodox community in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.  Esty flees to Berlin, where her estranged mother lives. While trying to navigate a secular life in the German capital, she must contend with the arrival of her husband from New York, intent on bringing his pregnant wife back to America.  The discussion will be led by Susan Benjamin. You'll need to watch the miniseries beforehand, available only on the Netflix streaming service.  For questions, please contact Danny Burdett. THIS VIRTUAL PROGRAM WILL TAKE PLACE ON THE ZOOM VIDEOCONFERENCE PLATFORM.  24 HOURS PRIOR TO THE PROGRAM YOU WILL RECEIVE AN E-MAIL MESSAGE WITH A LINK TO THE PROGRAM AND INSTRUCTIONS.  IF YOU DO NOT RECEIVE THE MESSAGE PRIOR TO THE PROGRAM, CHECK YOUR SPAM FOLDER BEFORE CONTACTING THE LIBRARY. If you'd like to receive weekly updates on library programs and services, please sign up for the GPL e-newsletter:
