Together with his colleague Camille Pissarro and his dealer Amboise Vollard, Paul Cézanne sought to challenge the conservative art world of late 19th-century Paris. Eventually, he moved beyond Impressionism and inspired a new generation of modernists. In this online lecture, art historian Jeff Mishur discusses Cézanne's innovative approach to traditional subjects, including still life, landscape and the nude.
