IN LIBRARY Holiday Imagery: Christmas

7:00 PM - 8:00 PM
Glencoe Public Library
Hammond Room

Event Details

Right after Halloween, Christmas decorations and imagery begin to appear: Santa in his laden sleigh, resplendent Christmas trees, and Victorian city scenes. Why and how did these images become associated with Christmas? In this program, we will search for an authentic Christmas iconography and uncover how it was transformed over time. Discussion led by art historian (and Glencoe resident) Julie Harris. Walk-ins welcome!
