Mary Cassatt worked as an artist and businesswoman in
an age when most women of her station were restricted to the home. Despite
this, she was able to work within her social structure to achieve success by
painting private domestic subjects and subjects derived from the everyday life
of modern women. Dr. Michelle Paluch-Mishur returns for this virtual lecture in
which she will discuss a selection of works and themes that Cassatt pursued
during her career.
